How to Clean Up After a Holiday Party

Clean Up After a Holiday PartyThe correct sequence of actions will help turn the chaos back into a comfortable home.

1. Open windows
After the party, the room must be checked, especially if the guests smoked. Immediately empty the ashtrays, because they emanate a strong odor, because of which freshness will not return to the apartment soon.

How to facilitate the process
Do not allow guests to smoke in the apartment. They will disperse, and you still sleep in it. After a night in a smoke-filled room, cleaning will be much more difficult due to poor health, and things will keep the smell for a long time.

2. Collect trash
Walk through the apartment with the package in your hand and put everything there that you need to throw out. At the same time inspect the scope of work.
When collecting garbage, inspect the premises and mark the places that need attention: stains on the floor, traces of spilled drinks on surfaces.

How to facilitate the process
Arrange the room where the party takes place, bags or buckets for garbage. Let the guests throw away the chocolate wrappers, empty cans, bottles and other waste on their own, instead of placing them on the windowsills and tables.

3. Clean the kitchen
Professional cleaners start cleaning surfaces from the kitchen. First, wash the dishes to free the sink and get free access to water. It is better to immediately lay out clean dishes in places and not litter kitchen surfaces: they also have to be cleaned.
With complex stains in the kitchen, you can cope, filling them with a special tool and waiting until it works. The main thing is to carefully read the descriptions on the packages.

How to facilitate the process
Try to wipe the oven, stove and microwave before guests arrive, as fresh stains rub off faster.
After cooking the dishes for the party, wash the dishes immediately, without leaving them for later, otherwise you will have a big pile of dishes that you cannot approach.
If the party is informal, disposable tableware will be a good solution. We also advise you to cover the table with a tablecloth, which is not a pity to throw out: you don’t have to scour it from stains.

4. Pour plumbing detergent
Apply the cleaner to the bathtub, sink and toilet. By the time you get to the bathroom, liquids and powders will work and you can remove them.
If necessary, pour a cleaning agent into the drain.

5. Clean the rooms
After the kitchen wedges clean up the rooms, and then – in the hallway.
We recommend that you clean it from the top down: wipe high surfaces, then clean the beds and sofas, and last of all, vacuum and clean the floors.

How to facilitate the process
Cover the sofas with blankets before the party to protect the upholstery from stains. Covers then you can put a washing machine, but love the ottoman – no. If possible, if someone from the guests spills something, it is better to wipe it immediately.
We advise you to always have a microfiber cloth on hand. They perfectly absorb moisture and dirt, quickly dry.
Change the water in the bucket often to really launder the apartment, and not just smear the dirt on the surfaces.

6. Leave the bathroom for last
Such a sequence in cleaning is rational: you will go to the bathroom over and over again to pour water from a bucket or wash a rag under running water. And to clean up here to the rest of the rooms simply does not make sense.
Wipe plumbing, which you prudently filled with a special tool, mirrors, wash the floors. Throw all the towels in the laundry, because the guests most likely wiped their hands not only on the textiles that you hung on the coat rack near the sink.

How to facilitate the process
Don’t forget about gloves. Tools for plumbing are quite caustic, and if the previous stages of cleaning hands are able to endure, cleaning the bathroom can result in a chemical burn of the skin.

7. Take out all the trash.
Collect the bags that you used at the very beginning and replenished during the cleaning process, take them to the trash and return to a clean apartment.
